Services

Although Animal Care Center was the first established veterinary clinic in Vacaville (1953!), we have made it a priority to remain current in both techniques and equipment. Some examples of this dedication are:

Focus on Education: All of our veterinarians are UC Davis trained, and regularly attend sessions of continuing education, both at local and national meetings. In addition, we are linked to the Veterinary Information Network, the largest veterinary internet database. VIN also maintains the VeterinaryPartner website, and excellent source of veterinary information for the general public. Finally, we maintain a complete, current library of veterinary texts.

Imaging
: Animal Care Center offers the latest in digital X-Ray equipment from Eklin, providing fast clear images with a minimum of stress to your pets. The digital system is sensitive enough to diagnose problems in small rodents, yet robust enough to use on Great Danes. In addition, we offer abdominal ultrasound from a UC Davis trained staff.

Anesthesia and Surgery: Animal Care Center has a full surgical suite with monitoring equipment for blood pressure, breathing, ECG and oxygen saturation. We provide a wide variety of surgical services from spays and neuters to large surgical repairs. In addition, we are experienced in small mammal surgery, including rabbit spays and neuters, and rat mass removals. We provide orthopedic surgeries, such as cruciate ligament and fracture repair, on-site from a board certified veterinary surgeon.

Dentistry: We offer a wide array of dental services, including cleaning, polishing, extractions, dental radiographs and minor oral surgery. Our head technician has over 30 years of experience in dental prophylaxis.

Pharmacy: We maintain a large inventory, including many of the newest veterinary drugs. We offer multiple choices for arthritis medicine, and pride ourselves in keeping your animals comfort as a top priority. In addition, we carry flea and tick control products, heartworm medicine, veterinary shampoos and a complete line of prescription diets from Hills.

Diagnostic Medicine: We have a stocked in-house laboratory, and are well equipped to diagnose most veterinary problems with services such as hematology, serology, urinalysis, parasite testing and serum chemistry. Additionally, we use the IDEXX national laboratory for pathology, histology, cytology and additional tests not easily available in-house.

Emergency Medicine: We offer a full range of emergency services during our business hours. After hours, we recommend clients go to either the Solano Pet Emergency Clinic in Cordelia, or UC Davis Emergency.

Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets, we stress the importance of an annual physical examination. Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems.
